Davao region tallies 29 new COVID-19 cases, 1 fatality
The Department of Health Davao Center for Health Development (DCHD) recorded 29 new COVID-19 cases in the region on Friday, July 10, 2020, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 718.
Of the new cases, 21 were from Davao City, four from Davao del Norte, two from Davao Oriental, and one each from Davao del Sur and Davao de Oro.
The region now has 251 active infections, and unfortunately, one new death was recorded, bringing the total fatalities to 34.
There were also seven new recoveries, increasing the region's total recoveries to 433.
Davao City has a total of 537 cases, with 153 active infections, 355 recoveries, and 29 deaths.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte attributed the increase in cases to the general community quarantine (GCQ) and the influx of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
