DOH confirms second COVID-19 case in Bataan

The Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed a second case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Bataan, identified as PH303, a 24-year-old male currently undergoing treatment in a provincial hospital.

PH303 is a dormitory roommate in Manila of PH64, the first confirmed case in the province, and both residents of Bataan work in Manila.

PH64, a Manila university professor, is confined at the Bataan St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center and is reported to be recovering well.

The Provincial Health Office has initiated contact tracing for individuals connected to PH303 and PH64.

Bataan Governor Albert S. Garcia urged the public to unite and cooperate by adhering to the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) guidelines, with the province declared under a state of calamity and 48 checkpoints established to implement the ECQ.
