DOH confirms 21K new cases of COVID-19; death toll exceeds 36K
The Department of Health (DoH) confirmed 21,261 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the country's total to over 2.3 million.
The death toll climbed by 277 to 36,018, while recoveries saw an increase of 13,644, bringing the total to over two million.

President Rodrigo R. Duterte announced that the DoH requested an additional P1.23 billion for the special risk allowance of health workers, on top of the P15.1 billion already released.
The government also plans to seek more funding to hire additional health workers during the pandemic.
