DOH Caraga reports 31 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health in Caraga Region (DOH-13) announced 31 new cases of Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the area as of Monday, June 22, 2020.

These new infections bring Caraga Region's total confirmed cases to 87.

DOH-13 Director Jose Llacuna Jr. stated that 130 RT-PCR test results were received, with 38 positive results, including seven follow-up tests.

The new cases are distributed across various cities and towns, including Butuan City, Cabadbaran City, Surigao City, and Bislig City, among others.

Of the 31 new patients, 27 are asymptomatic and placed in isolation facilities, while four are experiencing mild symptoms and are admitted for treatment.

The new cases consist of 22 Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs), one Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF), and eight workers from the mining industry in Claver, Surigao del Norte.

Director Llacuna emphasized the practice of minimum health standards and urged LGUs to strictly implement health protocols due to recorded local transmission in Butuan City.
