2 new COVID-19 cases reported in Eastern Visayas
Eastern Visayas has recorded 357 confirmed COVID-19 cases after thirteen new infections were logged on Friday, June 19.
The Department of Health (DOH-8) confirmed the new cases from swab results released by the Eastern Visayas Regional COVID Testing Center.
The new cases are distributed across several areas including Caibiran, Biliran; Villareal, Samar; Bato, Leyte; Tanauan, Leyte; La Paz, Leyte; and Jaro, Leyte.
Four new cases were reported in Tacloban City, while Palompon municipality had three confirmed cases.
San Miguel, Leyte, confirmed its first COVID patient.
Patient EV 343 remains a 26-year-old male health worker from Tacloban City, and Patient EV 344 is a 27-year-old male locally stranded individual from Manila, who is a resident of Biliran, Biliran.
The LSI from Manila, who is a resident of Biliran, arrived on June 12 and is currently under quarantine.
The governor of Biliran stated that health protocols and contact tracing are underway for the new case in his province.
