DOH seeks DOJ help to track down 2 close contacts of Pinoys with virus variant
The Department of Health (DOH) has officially asked the Department of Justice (DOJ) for assistance in locating two close contacts of a Filipino who tested positive for the UK COVID-19 variant after arriving from the UAE.
DOH spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire confirmed that the names of the two individuals were submitted to a DOJ executive on Friday.
The DOJ executive committed to referring the matter to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to aid in finding these two individuals.
The DOH is also working to identify other people who may have had contact with these individuals.
Vergeire stated that the DOH does not currently see a need to file cases against the two individuals for incomplete contact tracing information.
