Philippines has enough cold storage for COVID-19 vaccines, says DOH
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III affirmed on Wednesday that the Philippines has sufficient cold storage facilities to accommodate the COVID-19 vaccines scheduled for arrival next month.
Duque, along with vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. and other NTF officials, inspected various cold storage facilities, including those at Unilab Pharma Campus, RITM, and Zuellig Pharma.
The inspections confirmed the availability of facilities across the required temperature ranges: +2 to +8 degrees Celsius, -30 degrees Celsius, and -70 to -80 degrees Celsius.
Specifically, Zuellig Pharma's facility can store 650 million doses requiring +2 to +8 degrees Celsius, 40 million doses at -20 degrees Celsius, and 6.5 million doses at -70 to -80 degrees Celsius.
