DOH confirms 4 new coronavirus cases in Leyte
The Department of Health Region 8 (DOH-8) has reported four new COVID-19 cases in Leyte, increasing the total count in Eastern Visayas to 76.
Two of the new cases are locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Ormoc City who returned from Cebu City.
Another case is an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Saudi Arabia who arrived in La Paz, Leyte.
The fourth case is a female LSI from Matalom, Leyte, who arrived from Cebu.
These new cases were among the 224 sample results released by the Eastern Visayas Regional COVID Testing Center.
Divine Word Hospital also reported 54 negative sample results.
Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez expressed frustration over the lack of coordination and adherence to health protocols for returning residents, potentially overwhelming local quarantine facilities.
