DMW recalls LA labor attaché over flood control project anomaly allegations

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has recalled Labor Attaché Macy Monique Maglanque from Los Angeles to face investigation regarding alleged involvement in flood control project anomalies.

Senator Panfilo Lacson identified Maglanque as the president of MBB Global Properties, a firm linked to the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Clark, Pampanga.

Lacson also highlighted that Maglanque's father, Candaba, Pampanga Mayor Rene Maglanque, is the former president of Globalcrete Builders, which allegedly cornered P2.195 billion worth of flood control projects in Bulacan from 2018 to 2024.

DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac clarified that the recall is part of the investigative process, allowing Maglanque to respond to allegations face-to-face.

However, Senator Lacson stated that the recall may not be necessary as Maglanque has no stake in Globalcrete Builders, despite her past presidency of MBB Properties.
