PH, Croatia ink deal for Filipino hotel workers

The Philippines and Croatia have signed implementing guidelines for the recruitment of Filipino hotel workers, establishing a government-to-government agreement.

Undersecretary Felicitas Bay and Croatian Employment Service Director General Ante Loncar signed the guidelines, which ensure Croatian employers will cover recruitment expenses for Filipino workers.

The agreement aims for a simplified, safe, ethical, and transparent hiring process with robust protection measures for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

Filipino workers will receive a Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) from OWWA and a Pre-Flight Briefing from the DMW's Pre-Employment and Government Placement Bureau (PEGPB).

A clear dispute resolution mechanism, guided by the labor laws of both nations, has been established.

The deal is expected to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the Philippines and Croatia.
