La Salle, CSB open doors to homeless during COVID-19 pandemic
De La Salle University (DLSU) and the College of St. Benilde have opened their facilities to provide temporary shelter for homeless individuals during the enhanced community quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
DLSU is currently housing 79 individuals, including women and the elderly, on the second floor of the Enrique Razon Sports Center.
College of St. Benilde is sheltering 80 homeless individuals, providing them with basic necessities.
This initiative is a collaboration with the Kain, Ligo NG ayos (KALINGA) Program of the Divine Word Missionaries (SVD), whose volunteers are attending to the needs of the guests.
St. Scholastica's College in Manila is also reportedly providing shelter to a number of people.
