DHSUD to build 500,000 housing units in New Clark City

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) plans to construct approximately 500,000 housing units within New Clark City in Tarlac.

This initiative aims to decongest surrounding urban areas and unlock the economic potential of New Clark City, envisioned as the nation's first smart, green, and resilient metropolis.

The plan was solidified through a Memorandum of Understanding signed between DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Chairman Delfin Lorenzana.

Secretary Acuzar highlighted that bringing in a population through affordable and sustainable housing will spur economic activities within the development.

Chairman Lorenzana emphasized that New Clark City's masterplan prioritizes people's needs and is an ideal location for the administration's housing program to address the country's shortage.

The 500,000 housing units are expected to accommodate around 1.2 million Filipinos.

These housing facilities will benefit residents and workers in Clark, families displaced by government projects, and government employees and members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
