232 Filipinos return home from Thailand
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has repatriated a total of 68,440 overseas Filipinos (OFs) since February.
Of the total repatriated, 35,059 are seafarers and 33,381 are land-based workers.
Nearly 600 OFs from Japan and Saudi Arabia arrived over the weekend via chartered flights.
The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo facilitated the repatriation of 204 Filipinos from Japan, including those from Okinawa.
Separately, 232 Filipinos were repatriated from Thailand, bringing the total from that country to 966 since April.
The DFA has monitored 8,629 confirmed coronavirus cases involving Filipinos abroad, with 563 deaths.
