DBP launches P510M Inspire program for education

The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has launched a P510 million program called DBP Inspire to enhance educational access through scholarships and school facility upgrades over five years.

The DBP Inspire program will allocate approximately P437.5 million for scholarships that cover tuition, living expenses, and study materials for financially challenged students.

An additional P72.5 million is designated for improving classrooms and equipment in 150 public schools, supporting the Department of Education's Adopt-a-School and Brigada Eskwela initiatives.

In its first year, the program aims to benefit at least 350 students facing financial difficulties.

DBP has selected nine educational institutions to participate in this initiative, including Bulacan State University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology.
