DBP allocates P510 million for education CSR initiative

The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has allocated P510 million for its five-year corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, DBP INSPIRE, aimed at enhancing the nation's human capital through education.

DBP President and CEO Michael de Jesus stated that the program aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s agenda to prioritize education for national development.

A significant portion of the budget, P437.5 million, will fund scholarships for at least 350 students annually, covering tuition, living allowances, and school supplies.

Scholarships will be prioritized for students pursuing courses critical to workforce development, including Engineering, Accountancy, Education, Agriculture, Sciences, Maritime, IT, and Technical-Vocational programs.

Additionally, P72.5 million will support the Department of Education's Adopt-a-School and Brigada Eskwela programs, focusing on improving facilities and learning equipment in 150 public schools across the country.
