Davao City imposes hard lockdown on Brgy 23-C due to surge in COVID-19 cases

Davao City has imposed a hard lockdown on Barangay 23-C due to a significant increase in COVID-19 cases.

Barangay 23-C, with around 18,000 residents, has been classified as a high-risk area due to its high daily infection rate, recording 88 cases and two deaths.

The hard lockdown, effective Saturday afternoon, is a measure to contain the spread of the virus and involves a minimum of a 14-day quarantine for the entire barangay.

During the lockdown, residents will be confined to the barangay, with no one allowed to enter or exit until the virus spread is controlled.

The Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office will provide food rations and psychosocial interventions to the affected residents.

Security forces will be deployed to enforce the lockdown measures, and residents are strongly advised to avoid the area entirely.

Other areas in Davao City, including Agdao Proper, Bucana, Buhangin Proper, Cabantian, Leon Garcia, and Ma-a, have also been identified as very high-risk or high-risk.
