Davao City confirms 4 new mpox cases; total now 6

Davao City confirmed four new mpox cases, bringing the total number of infections in the city to six.

One of the earlier cases in Davao City died from complications unrelated to mpox, while another has fully recovered.

Health authorities are closely monitoring the four new patients, who are admitted at the Southern Philippines Medical Center, along with their close contacts.

Davao City Health Office coordinator Dr. Sofia Corazon Zafra encouraged residents to wear face masks, especially in enclosed spaces, and continue observing health protocols.

In neighboring Davao del Sur, Governor Yvonne Cagas mandated face mask use in public spaces and ordered the suspension of swimming pool operations as a precautionary measure.

Mindanao has reported a total of 10 confirmed mpox cases in South Cotabato, two in Maguindanao del Norte, and one in Zamboanga Sibugay.
