SMC-CPC Awards night honors best collegiate athletes

The San Miguel Corporation-Collegiate Press Corps (SMC-CPC) Awards Night honored the best student-athletes and coaches from the UAAP and NCAA for the 2024-2025 athletic season on Monday, June 30, at Discovery Suites Manila in Ortigas, Pasig.

Clint Escamis of Mapua University was named CPC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, having led the Cardinals to their first NCAA championship in 33 years.

He was joined in the CPC Men's Mythical Team by JD Cagulangan of UP, Kevin Quiambao and Mike Phillips of La Salle, and Allen Liwag of College of St. Benilde.

Kacey dela Rosa of Ateneo was named the UAAP Women's Basketball Player of the Year.

Escamis expressed his desire to help Mapua win back-to-back championships, while dela Rosa aims to help Ateneo win the UAAP Season 88 championship.

The event was co-presented by the Philippine Sports Commission, Pilipinas Live, and GMA.
