Comelec receives reviewed source code for overseas voting and counting system
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has received the source code for the first-ever overseas voting and counting system (OVCS) for Eleksyon 2025.
International certifying body Pro V&V, Comelec's partner, turned over the source code after reviewing the election system.
The OVCS source code will undergo a local source code review in compliance with Philippine election laws.
Pro V&V president Jack Cobb stated that about 80% to 85% of testing is complete, with no expected major issues affecting the election.
The OVCS is the final component of the automated election system (AES) requiring international certification.
The source codes for the other AES components have already been placed at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
Pro V&V will submit a report to the technical evaluation committee (TEC), composed of representatives from Comelec and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), following the OVCS review.
