Comelec extends LAV application deadline to March 17

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has extended the deadline for filing applications for local absentee voting (LAV) to March 17, 2025.

This extension was granted due to numerous requests from government units, offices, agencies and departments, and in consideration of the Holy Week observances.

Eligible individuals for LAV include government employees, military and police personnel, and media workers whose duties fall on election day.

The deadline for the verification of LAV registrants has been moved from April 8 to April 17, 2025.

The deadline for transmitting election materials to concerned offices is set for not later than April 27, 2025.

Applications may be disapproved if the applicant's name is not in the national list of registered voters, the application was filed late, the form is not under oath, only a photocopy was submitted, or if the certification portion of LAV Form No. 02 is not properly completed.
