Comelec dismisses disqualification bid vs Bagong Henerasyon Party-list

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) First Division has dismissed a petition seeking to disqualify the Bagong Henerasyon Party-list and its nominees.

The dismissal was due to the petitioner's failure to comply with mandatory requirements, specifically the lack of personal service of the petition to the respondents.

The petitioner also failed to submit an affidavit explaining why personal service was not feasible, and did not attach the required Certificate of Nomination-Certificate of Acceptance of Nomination (CON-CAN).

The Comelec First Division stated that non-compliance with mandatory requirements leads to the dismissal of the petition.

This decision comes after the proclamation of Bagong Henerasyon Party-list and Duterte Youth was previously postponed due to pending petitions against them.
