CICC intensifies campaign vs e-sabong

The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) has intensified its campaign to eliminate e-sabong as part of a wider crackdown on cybercrime.

This move follows public outcry after a legislator was seen watching an apparent e-sabong match during a House of Representatives session.

CICC Deputy Executive Director Atty. Renato Paraiso stated that e-sabong poses a threat to cybersecurity and the social fabric, linking it to organized cybercrime and financial fraud.

Paraiso emphasized that the CICC is taking decisive action to eradicate these illicit activities.

He clarified that the CICC's stance is not for a total ban on online gambling but rather for stringent regulation, transparency, and accountability within the industry.
