Charly Suarez eyes WBO crown against Navarrete

Filipino boxer Charly Suarez aims for a convincing victory against Mexican opponent Emmanuel Navarrete for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) super featherweight crown on May 10 at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California.

The 36-year-old Suarez, a Rio Olympics veteran and three-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, views this title fight as a significant opportunity to achieve his dream of becoming a world champion.

Suarez, who has an undefeated record of 18-0 with 10 knockouts, is also out to avenge the losses of fellow Filipinos against Navarrete.

Supporter Chavit Singson hopes for a win "at all cost" and desires a convincing performance, potentially by knockout, from the 30-year-old Mexican champion who holds a 39-2 record with 32 knockouts.

Singson has provided Suarez with accommodations in Tagaytay City for his training.
