Suarez, Singson to attend PSA Forum on world title fight

Filipino boxer Charly Suarez and his main backer, former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis "Chavit" Singson, will attend a Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum to discuss Suarez's upcoming world title fight.

Suarez is scheduled to challenge Mexican Emanuel Navarrete for the WBC super-featherweight championship on May 10 in San Diego.

Singson, who is also Suarez's chief handler, played a key role in making the title fight possible through negotiations with Top Rank.

This bout marks Suarez's first attempt at a world crown after a successful amateur career, which included multiple SEA Games gold medals, an Asian Games silver, and an Olympic appearance in Rio.

The PSA Forum, set for Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, will also include Suarez's trainer, Delfin Boholst.
