6 ‘UK-variant patients’ in C. Visayas test negative of Covid-19
All six individuals in Central Visayas who were identified as close contacts of a COVID-19 patient with the UK variant have tested negative for the virus.

The exposed persons, consisting of two from Bohol, three from Cebu, and one from Negros Oriental, underwent two rounds of RT-PCR swab testing.
Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, DOH-7 chief pathologist and Covid-19 spokesperson, stated that there is no cause for alarm as the region remains safe from the new strain.
Although they have tested negative, they are still required to complete their quarantine period and are scheduled to be released on January 23, as they remained asymptomatic.
