CBCP president sees God's love in Filipinos' pandemic bayanihan

The President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), Archbishop Romulo Valles, stated that the widespread willingness of Filipinos to help during the coronavirus pandemic is a testament to the enduring love of God within them.

Archbishop Valles highlighted the selfless service and 'bayanihan' spirit demonstrated by individuals who risk their own lives to protect and save others, particularly the sick and the poor.

He likened the courage of frontliners in the fight against COVID-19 to Jesus' willing sacrifice on the cross to save humanity.

Valles reminded the faithful of Jesus' immense love and mercy, emphasizing His conscious and willing acceptance of death to redeem mankind.

The Archbishop concluded by stating that Jesus' resurrection signifies His victory over death, a victory He shares with all believers, defining the essence of Easter.
