Catriona Gray urges Ombudsman to file corruption raps vs officials

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray urged the Ombudsman to file corruption cases against implicated government officials during anti-corruption protests on November 30.

Gray also called for the Senate to suspend fellow senators and for Congress to pass the anti-dynasty bill.

She participated in the Trillion Peso Protests at the People Power Monument, highlighting the pervasive impact of corruption on the lives of Filipinos.

Gray delivered a powerful speech expressing frustration over the prolonged lack of accountability and justice for billions of pesos lost to corruption, stating, "Today we stand here us Filipinos who are tired."

She emphasized the public's fatigue with ongoing corruption and the "deafening silence" from authorities expected to act on these massive scandals.

Gray questioned why Filipinos allow corruption to continue, asking, "When are we going to wake up?"

During the protest, Gray also prayed for the country, asking for hidden corruption to be revealed and for justice to fall on those who betrayed the nation.

She vowed that their generation will not let corruption win and that no one will move on until someone is held accountable.

Gray further utilized her social media platform on December 1 to declare her commitment to fighting corruption in the Philippines, emphasizing that it steals not just money but also the future of the nation's children.

She lamented that justice has yet to be attained despite the cries of the Filipino people, stating, "Kailan tayo muling magsisimulang umasa? Pilipinas... ang hirap mong mahalin, pero sa oras ng laban, hindi ka namin iiwan."
