Caraga region under ECQ after first Covid-19 case confirmed

The entire Caraga region has been placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) effective Tuesday, April 7, following the confirmation of the region's first case of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The Caraga Regional Task Force on Covid-19 unanimously approved the declaration after governors, mayors, directors of line agencies, and top police and military commanders agreed.

Agusan del Norte Governor Dale Corvera, who chairs the task force, announced the ECQ will be strictly implemented with a 24-hour curfew.

Movement will be limited to one person per household with a quarantine pass to purchase basic necessities and medicines.

Public transport will be suspended, and most establishments will be temporarily closed, with exceptions based on national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines.

The region's first Covid-19 case, a resident of Butuan City, was confirmed by DOH Region 13 Director Dr. Jose R. Llacuna, Jr. and is currently in stable condition at the Caraga Regional Hospital in Surigao City.
