Calabarzon to get bulk of 20M vaccine doses in Q4

Calabarzon is set to receive the majority of COVID-19 vaccine doses allocated for the fourth quarter of 2021, totaling 20 million doses.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque Jr. announced that the region, which includes Cavite, will receive 3,814,000 doses in September and 17,475,388 doses in the fourth quarter.

This increased allocation prioritizes Calabarzon because Metro Manila has already achieved 50% full vaccination coverage.

In contrast, Metro Manila will receive a reduced allocation of 951,692 doses in September and 4,359,890 doses in the fourth quarter.

The announcement follows Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla's expressed frustration over his province's insufficient vaccine supply.

Remulla had also urged the national government to allow local governments to procure their own COVID-19 vaccines due to supply issues.
