CAAP heightens security for Holy Week air travel

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has implemented heightened security protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and efficiency of air travel during the Holy Week.

As part of the DOTr's Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa 2025, CAAP aims to minimize delays and improve passenger flow across all its 44 airports nationwide.

All CAAP airports are on heightened alert with increased personnel, intensified security and baggage screening, and medical and emergency teams on standby.

Major airports will operate 24/7 with enhanced coordination among CAAP, airport operators, and airlines.

CAAP Director General Raul Del Rosario stated that they "anticipate high passenger volume during Semana Santa and have made the necessary preparations to ensure safe and efficient airport operations."

Travelers are advised to verify flight details, arrive at least three hours before flights, pack power banks in hand-carry bags within approved limits, and not leave baggage unattended.

Passengers are reminded to avoid bringing prohibited items like sharp objects or oversized liquids in carry-on luggage and refrain from making bomb jokes or threats, as these are criminal offenses.
