3M passengers expected to travel seaports, NAIA this Holy Week

Authorities expect over three million passengers to travel through seaports and NAIA this Holy Week.

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) projects 1.73 million passengers will use ports nationwide from April 14 to 20, a slight increase from last year.

As of Holy Monday, April 14, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) monitored 101,993 passengers at seaports nationwide from 6 a.m. to 12 noon.

Of these, 55,269 were outbound and 46,724 were inbound passengers.

The PCG dispatched 4,102 personnel and inspected 34 vessels and 804 motorbancas on Holy Monday to ensure safety.

All PCG districts are on heightened alert from April 13 to 20.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed 40,000 personnel nationwide until May 31 to ensure peace and order during the holidays and summer season.
