Bulacan SP declares state of calamity amid Covid-19 crisis

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Bulacan unanimously passed a resolution declaring the province under a state of calamity to bolster efforts against Covid-19.

This declaration allows the provincial government to mobilize resources for critical response and preventive measures.

Governor Daniel Fernando expressed gratitude to the SP, noting that the declaration would provide full assistance and mobilize necessary resources for any Covid-19-related crisis.

The resolution also urged the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to strictly enforce anti-hoarding and anti-overpricing laws to protect consumers.

Vice Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado stated the resolution would provide incentives to frontliners identified by provincial and district hospital directors.

As of the reported date, Bulacan had six confirmed Covid-19 cases and 124 patients under investigation (PUIs).

Of the confirmed cases, two were from the City of San Jose del Monte, and one each from the City of Malolos, Guiguinto, and Baliwag.

The patient under investigation (PUI) from San Ildefonso recently died in a Manila hospital.
