BuCor denies Guo's request for extended quarantine

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) denied the request of former Bamban mayor Alice Guo and two co-accused to extend their stay in the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) quarantine area by 55 days.

Guo, Jaimielyn Cruz, and Rachelle Joan Carreon finished their five-day quarantine on Thursday after being transferred from BJMP to CIW on December 6.

BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. instructed the CIW Superintendent to move the three individuals to a regular dormitory within the Reception Diagnostic Center (RDC) immediately.

Within the RDC, they will undergo a mandatory 60-day orientation, diagnostics, and classification process.

This diagnostic period is essential for assessing the psychological and physical needs of the inmates and developing personalized treatment plans.

Following the completion of their diagnostics, Guo and her co-accused will be moved to a dormitory in the Maximum Security Camp due to their life sentences.
