Boracay starts vaccination for tourism workers with 3,000 Sinovac doses

The initial batch of vaccines consisted of 3,000 doses of Sinovac, which arrived in Aklan on July 3, 2021.

Beneficiaries include employees from accommodation establishments (2,178), restaurants (308), tourist transport services (140), and 374 tourism frontline personnel.

These workers were identified by the Malay, Aklan local government unit with the help of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) in Boracay and the Boracay Foundation, Incorporated.

Approximately 500 tourism employees are expected to be vaccinated daily to meet the target.

Secretary Puyat assured that there will be a continuous supply of vaccines until all tourism workers in Boracay are inoculated.
