Bohol gov orders heightened COVID-19 alert

Bohol Governor Arthur Yap has ordered heightened efforts to protect the province from COVID-19 following the DOH's confirmation of the virus' first local transmission and the government's declaration of Code Red Sub-Level 1.

Governor Yap has directed provincial local officials to mobilize resources and expedite the procurement of critical equipment and supplies for monitoring and quarantine measures.

Mandatory thermometer scans and health declaration cards will be strictly enforced for all arrivals in Bohol via sea or air at the Panglao International Airport and ports managed by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).

The governor advised mayors to reconsider travel plans to Manila and instead remain in their respective towns to prepare for the challenges posed by the red alert declaration.

Governor Yap also mentioned that he will be meeting with Cabinet officials on Monday, along with officers of the Governor's League of the Philippines, to coordinate efforts against COVID-19.
