Bocaue police killings suspect killed in Cagayan shootout

The suspect believed to be responsible for the killing of two police officers in Bocaue, Bulacan was killed in a shootout with authorities in Baggao, Cagayan.

Edison Bayumbon, also known as "Xander," allegedly fired at police officers serving an arrest warrant, prompting them to retaliate.

Bayumbon was accused of involvement in the March 8 killings of Staff Sgt. Dennis Cudiamat and Staff Sgt. Gian George Dela Cruz of the Bocaue Municipal Police.

A Glock pistol, believed to be stolen from one of the slain officers in the Bulacan ambush, was recovered at the scene.

The regional police chief stated that the suspect's death sends a message that Cagayan Valley is not a haven for criminals and is a victory for justice for the fallen officers and their families.
