BOC seizes P8.8M worth of shabu, marijuana from NAIA parcels

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has seized approximately P8.8 million worth of illegal drugs, including shabu and high-grade marijuana, originating from three unclaimed parcels at a NAIA warehouse.

The parcels, declared as electronic equipment and garments, were flagged by suspicious x-ray images on September 25 and confirmed through K-9 sweeps and manual inspections.

One parcel contained 992 grams of shabu, while the other two held a combined 1,396 grams of high-grade marijuana.

BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno commended the vigilance of NAIA authorities and affirmed the bureau's determination to stop drug traffickers and protect the public.

The seized illegal drugs are under BOC-NAIA custody pending laboratory testing and further investigation.
