BOC confiscates P1.2 billion in fake goods, vapes in Malabon

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has confiscated counterfeit goods, untaxed disposable vapes, and unregulated merchandise valued at P1.2 billion during an operation in Malabon City.

The BOC, specifically the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Manila International Container Port (CIIS-MICP), executed Letters of Authority on warehouses in Malabon City on March 11.

During the inspection, a joint enforcement team discovered a large quantity of counterfeit items, disposable vapes lacking Bureau of Internal Revenue tax stamps and Department of Trade and Industry Import Commodity Clearance stickers, and other unregulated products.

The warehouses where the illicit items were found have been sealed and padlocked to secure the confiscated goods for inventory.

A Warrant of Seizure and Detention will be issued against the seized items for violating the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act and the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
