PNP intercepts P2.1M worth of kush at NAIA mail center

Operatives from the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) intercepted five inbound parcels at the Central Mail Exchange Center.

The parcels, which showed a suspicious image during a Bureau of Customs (BOC) X-ray inspection, were flagged for a K-9 unit, which positively identified the illegal drugs.

A manual inspection confirmed the parcels contained approximately 1,535 grams of high-grade marijuana, also known as Kush, with an estimated street value of P2,149,000.

The seized marijuana has been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for further investigation and analysis.

PNP-AVSEGROUP director PBGen Christopher Abecia stated that this interception demonstrates AVSEGROUP's dedication to protecting borders from illicit drug smuggling.
