BOC facilitates release of 400,000 Sinovac vaccine doses

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) facilitated the clearance and release of 400,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines donated by China, which arrived at the Port of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

This marks the second batch of Sinovac vaccine donations from China, following the initial 600,000 doses that arrived on February 28.

Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero committed to continue expediting the processing of COVID-19 vaccines and related shipments.

The BOC in NAIA also pledged to strengthen its coordination with the Department of Health and the Food and Drug Administration to ensure the safety and efficacy of cleared goods.

Aside from the 1 million Sinovac doses, 525,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the COVAX facility arrived on March 4.

The Philippines has also received emergency use authorization for Pfizer-BioNTech and Sputnik V vaccines.
