Bicol logs 36 new Covid-19 cases, toddler among those infected

A total of 36 individuals, including a one-year-old toddler, have tested positive for Covid-19 in Bicol, raising the region's total confirmed cases to 655 as of Saturday.

Of the 36 new cases, eight are children under five years old, with the youngest being an 11-month-old infant.

The DOH-Bicol reported that the region currently has 378 active Covid-19 cases, 261 recoveries, and 16 deaths.

The province of Camarines Sur has the highest number of cases with 250, followed by Albay with 217.

DOH-Bicol urged the public, particularly locally stranded individuals and returning overseas Filipinos, to strictly adhere to quarantine and isolation protocols.

The agency also reminded the public to maintain health protocols such as social distancing, wearing face masks outdoors, proper hand hygiene, and practicing a healthy lifestyle to combat the virus.
