BI records over 800K passenger arrivals, departures during Holy Week
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported nearly one million passenger movements, encompassing both arrivals and departures, during the recent Holy Week period.
A total of 371,092 arrivals and 432,763 departures were recorded across all international airports in the country.
The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) experienced peak daily figures, with arrivals reaching 51,000 and departures hitting 61,000.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado stated that the bureau successfully ensured smooth and secure travel for all passengers throughout the busy season.
To manage the high volume of travelers, the BI deployed over 40 immigration officers at NAIA.
Furthermore, a dedicated wing for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) was opened at NAIA Terminal 3, aiming to reduce queues and streamline processing.
