Five foreign nationals, including a Nigerian and four Chinese, were arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in Pangasinan and Ifugao for overstaying and working without valid permits.

In Dagupan City, Nigerian Emmanuel Emeka Ndukwe was arrested on April 25 for being undocumented and having an expired passport.

During his processing at the BI main office, Ndukwe head-butted two immigration personnel, causing injuries.

Separately, four Chinese nationals were arrested in Lagawe, Ifugao, on April 28 for working without valid visas or permits.

One of the Chinese nationals, Yang Yongxiang, was arrested at the Ibulao Hydropower Plant.
