Nasa 50k hanggang 60k OFWs na 'di umuwi sa Pilipinas ang nabakunahan na laban sa COVID-19
Approximately 50,000 to 60,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in their host countries, according to Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.
This figure is based on reports of OFWs who opted not to repatriate to the Philippines after receiving their vaccinations.
Bello stated that these vaccinated OFWs are choosing to remain in their current locations.
In total, 13,897 Filipinos have contracted COVID-19 abroad, with 945 reported deaths, as per the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration projected that around 80,000 OFWs might return to the Philippines in the first half of 2021 due to the ongoing health crisis.
