Baste Duterte files raps vs Remulla, Abalos, Teodoro over father's ICC transfer

Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte filed multiple criminal and administrative complaints against Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remulla, Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos, Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, and other officials.

These complaints stem from the arrest and transfer of his father, former President Rodrigo R. Duterte, to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

The charges include eight counts each of kidnapping and arbitrary detention, violations of the Anti-Torture Act (RA 9745), qualified direct assault, illegal expulsion, usurpation of judicial functions, and graft (RA 3019).

Administrative charges accuse the officials of serious dishonesty, gross neglect of duty, grave misconduct, disloyalty, oppression, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of public service.

The new complaints were filed before the Ombudsman for Mindanao, adding to previous charges dismissed by the Ombudsman.

Respondents also include National Security Adviser Eduardo Año, Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty, and former Philippine National Police chiefs, among others.
