Bagunas scores 23 in World Championship debut despite Alas Pilipinas loss

Bryan Bagunas, captain of Alas Pilipinas, made his comeback in the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, delivering a game-high 23 points in his debut despite the team's loss to Tunisia.

Bagunas sustained a serious knee injury a year ago, forcing him to miss significant playing opportunities.

He experienced personal blessings during his recovery, including the birth of his first child and becoming an ambassador for the Philippines' hosting of the Volleyball World Championship.

Bagunas will also return to the Japan SV.League with a new club, Osaka Bluteon, playing alongside Japanese star Yuji Nishida.

He expressed gratitude for the chance to play again and led the Philippine men's national volleyball team in their historic debut at the Men's World Championship on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Despite the challenges of his recovery, Bagunas returns with a renewed perspective and passion, aiming to make a significant impact.
