Aurora province completes typhoon Rolly preparations

Aurora province has completed its preparations for Typhoon Rolly, according to Governor Gerardo Noveras.

The provincial disaster response council convened a meeting with key agencies to finalize their respective responsibilities.

Heavy equipment has been pre-positioned by the DPWH along national roads to address potential landslides.

Evacuation centers have been set up, with the Department of Education designating school buildings as potential shelters.

Governor Noveras acknowledged the challenge of maintaining physical distancing in evacuation centers due to COVID-19 but assured that evacuees will be required to wear masks.

Governor Noveras also advised constituents, especially those in low-lying areas, to prepare adequate food and equipment and to secure their homes.

Residents are also advised not to swim and surf on the beaches as the typhoon continues to intensify its strength.
