Ateneo Blue Eagles clinch fourth straight win in UAAP women's basketball

The Ateneo Blue Eagles secured their fourth consecutive win in the UAAP Season 86 women's basketball tournament by defeating the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, 72-64.

Kacey dela Rosa led Ateneo with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals, while Junize Calago added 14 points.

Nigerian center Sarah Makanjuola contributed a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Jhazmin Villacruz added 10 points.

Ateneo, who lost their opening match to the National University Lady Bulldogs, now holds a solo second place with a 4-0 record, trailing only the University of the Philippines.

FEU, led by Josee Kaputu's 26 points and 20 rebounds, suffered their third loss in five outings.

The Lady Tamaraws held a lead of 26-18 in the first quarter and were still ahead 41-36 at halftime, but Ateneo made adjustments in the second half to secure the victory.

Ateneo achieved their largest lead of the game, 68-55, with less than four minutes remaining.
