Ateneo Blue Eagles bag first UAAP win against Adamson Falcons

Ateneo de Manila University secured its first win in UAAP Season 87 by defeating Adamson University, 60-51, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Blue Eagles, who had lost their previous three games, improved their record to 1-3.

Shawn Tuano led Ateneo with 11 points, including crucial free throws down the stretch, while Kristian Porter added eight points and 10 rebounds.

Chris Koon also finished with eight points and four rebounds, returning to the game after missing two games due to a left ankle injury.

Sophomore Kyle Gamber hit a third-quarter three-pointer that gave Ateneo its largest lead of 41-25.

Despite a late 13-2 run by Adamson that narrowed the score to 54-51 with just over a minute left, Ateneo held on for the win.

Cedrick Manzano scored 14 points for Adamson, who now holds a 2-2 record.
