Alyssa Valdez excited for AVC Women's Champions League return

Creamline Cool Smashers' star Alyssa Valdez expressed excitement for the opportunity to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women's Champions League.

This tournament, scheduled for April 20 to 27 at the PhilSports Arena, will feature Creamline and Petro Gazz Angels as the country's representatives, chosen as the top two squads from the PVL preliminaries.

Valdez acknowledged the challenge of balancing their commitment to the PVL All-Filipino Conference with the international competition.

It will be a special return to the international stage for the 31-year-old outside spiker, as she last represented the country on home soil in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Valdez missed the AVC Cup for Women 2022 in Pasig due to dengue, making this AVC Champions League stint her first international competition back home.

She views this stint as a significant chance to apply lessons learned from her previous national team experiences and showcase her development as a player.

Valdez highlighted the excitement of playing against champion teams from different Asian countries and having fellow Filipinos support them.
